AGM and Lunch 2023

We held our AGM in the Print Room at Guildhall before moving to the Old Library for lunch. Derek Wye was elected as our new Chairman with Alvan Seth Smith elected Vice Chairman.

A presentation was made to our previous Alderman John Garbutt, who was Alderman for Walbrook Ward from 2009 to 2022. Thanks were made for his dedication to both the Ward Club and the wider city, and mention was made of John's extensive ongoing support for the City.

Sadly Jennette Newman, our Alderwoman could not attend at short notice, and Common Councillor Deputy James Thomson gave an update of activities both in the Ward and in the City, and encouraged us to visit St Stephen Walbrook Church, which is next to Mansion House. Sheriff Andrew Marsden was our guest speaker and spoke with humour and sincerity about his first six months in office.

A very happy occasion at which we were delighted to welcome seven new members, three of whom joined us for lunch.
