Our President

Our Alderwoman represents Walbrook Ward in the Court of Aldermen, within the City of London Corporation, and is honorary President of our Ward Club

Alderwoman

Jennette Newman

Jennette has 25 years experience in the legal and insurance law sector, focusing in the last 15 years at a leadership level on business innovation, operational change. She was elected as Alderwoman for Walbrook Ward in 2022.

Our Common Councillors

Our two Common Councillors represent the electorate - business and individuals - in Walbrook Ward

James Thomson

James was elected as Common Councilman for Walbrook Ward in 2013 and was re-elected in 2017 and 2022. James is the Deputy for the Ward.

Outside the City, James is Chief Executive of MJ Gleeson plc the listed house builder focused on building low cost affordable homes for first time buyers. He is also a non-executive board member of the Association of Police and Crime Commissioners and a non-executive board member of the Serious Fraud Office.

Alethea Silk

Alethea has worked in the City for a number of years, with the last 7 years based in Walbrook. Whilst currently working in property and security covering an estate both in the City and across the UK, she has also worked across a range of industries.

Chairman

Alvan Seth-Smith

Alvan was Master of the Glovers Company 2017-18. He is retired, previously Deputy Chief Executive of the General Dental Council. His main hobby is cricket, serving on the Committee of Middlesex County Cricket Club for over 30 years.

Tricia Freakes

My City life started with N. M. Rothschild where I was first introduced to the Dealing Room. I then moved to Rowe & Pitman where I enjoyed many years in the Dealing Box and was fortunate to be there when the Stock Exchange was opened to women. I am married with one son and 3 energetic grandchildren.

Peter Cooper

Peter Cooper Is a retired fresh produce merchant / wholesaler.

Peter is Past Master and Honorary Archivist of the Worshipful Company of Fruiterers. Peter is also a Past Chairman and Honorary Archivist of Walbrook Ward Club.
